На 12 януари в Професионална гимназия по механоелектротехника и електроника се проведе инициативата „Механото чете за Европейския парламент” като част от Седмицата на четенето в гимназията. Младшите посланици от Механото са сред най-активните ученици и се вслючват с желание и хъс в инициативите. Първоначалната идея за тази инициатива беше много по-скромна, но когато има екипна работа и обмен на идеи, всичко се случва много по-добре.
Като част от Програмата за училища посланици на Европейския парламент младшите посланици определено са повишили познанията си за Европейския съюз и неговите институции. Те си поставиха за цел да помогнат и на своите съученици да подобрят информираността си, като споделят с тях онова, което са научили за Европейската общност.
В тази връзка младшите посланици (с малко помощ от старшите посланици за техническата обработка) от Механото подготвиха електронна книга с информация за ЕС и ЕП. Те гостуваха на свои съученици от различни випуски в Часа на класа и заедно я прочетоха. След като присъстващите се обогатих със знания за ЕС и ЕП, младшите посланици проведоха забавна викторина, в която всеки да провери какво е запомнил.
Книжката, подготвена специално за инициативата, остана като подарък за всеки от класовете.

Разбира се, младшите посланици не успяха да посетят всички класове за един ден, но те не са се отказали от целта си и “Механото чете за Европейския парламент” ще продължи и след Седмицата на четенето.
Към инициативата се присъедини и библиотеката на ПГМЕЕ, в която бе открита изложба от книги за Европейския съюз. За съжаление настоящата ситуация на ОЕСР не позволява те да бъдат използвани в момента, но щом присъственото обучение бъде възстановено, всеки желаещ ще може да ги използва.
